There are three types of Live Auctioneers:
- The volunteer or hobbyist is most often unskilled, a self-taught community member or even an eager radio or TV personality. Although they may make a good ‘Master of Ceremonies’ for your event, they don’t often make adequate charity auctioneers.
- The traditional auctioneer is professionally trained in the craft, but often, they have little if any experience in fundraising auctions; unfortunately, this can and will impact your fundraising event.
- The AFGI professional charity auctioneer, benefit auctioneer, or fundraising auctioneer comes from an accredited auction school. They are in good standing with the National Auctioneers Association and possess the requisite professional experience to insure your event’s profitability.
